Day 2 Kirtstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Return to Index of Pages

We enjoyed one of the finest Botanical Gardens on the face of the earth today. The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens exhibit many of South Africa's many species of plants.
Kirstenbosch was dedicated in 1913 having passed from the estate of Cecil Rhodes to South Africa on his death 1902. He had purchased it some years before in order to prevent commercial development of the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
We took nearly 400 photos, sorry, you only get 20 or so.
