OUR TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA
Day 4, Cape Town Waterfront

Return to Index of Pages

We had a City kind of day today. Visited downtown Cape Town and the Victoria and Albert Waterfront. It is the biggest development of its kind that we've ever seen, makes Baltimore, San Franciso and all of the others seem small. At least 100 restaurants, plus hundreds of shops, and of course a terrific aquarium.
Cape Town is not too large of a city, but they really know how to have fun!
Note the sign above Yvonne's head, 16,912 km to Vancouver. The facade on the grey building next to our lunch spot notes that this is the ferry terminal to Robben Island, the prison that held Nelson Mandela for so long.
